A brief psychological exploration of clinical depression in humans and its relationship to our rapidly changing climate. Looking poetically at how frequency, temperature, brain chemistry, consciousness and climate are delicately interconnected, this thesis attempts to reframe ideas of freedom, individualism, and linearity in time and perspective. Using the discovery of entanglement in quantum mechanics as a jumping off point, I am interested in following the implications of the crumbling of ideas of locality in materiality through the art historical perspectives of futurism, dada and surrealism. I chose these movements because of their proximity to the discovery of non-locality in materiality, and dada and surrealism in particular because of my natural inclination towards their sensibilities and aesthetics.
